Hello, I'm Rachel
My path into this work began at a mental health drop-in centre, where I volunteered alongside a talented and supportive team. I arrived feeling apprehensive, but very quickly felt as though I had come home. I loved getting to know the people who used the service and discovered that supporting others in this way felt both natural and deeply meaningful to me.
That experience taught me the importance of looking beyond diagnoses and labels to the person—and of understanding that the ways we think, feel and respond often make sense in the context of what we have lived through. That understanding remains at the heart of my work today.
My interest in NLP began after experiencing for myself the difference the right approach can make. Having read more about it, I knew I wanted to train, but finding a course with the depth and integrity I was looking for took time. I was eventually introduced to the NLP Wellbeing Coach Practitioner training—a thoughtful, grounded course focused on helping people create meaningful change.
Experience grounded in practice
After qualifying, I began working one-to-one with people and facilitating groups, while continuing to develop my skills through further study and practical experience. I went on to qualify as a Master NLP Practitioner and an EMN (Eye Movement Neurointegration) practitioner. For nearly a decade, I have worked on a self-employed basis with a local domestic abuse charity, supporting people affected by trauma and abuse.
Alongside this work, I’ve continued to learn and deepen my understanding of trauma, and expect to keep learning for as long as I practise. This has included several of Carolyn Spring’s trauma training courses and training as a trauma-sensitive HeartMath practitioner. My work is supported by regular professional supervision with a BACP psychotherapist who is also trained in EMN and NLP.
